Ξύπνησε μια μέρα...

...ο Gavin Burrell (The Reborn Identity) και εκεί που έπινε το πρωινό του τσάι, τσιμπολογώντας παράλληλα μικρά μπισκότα με γλάσο φράουλας, του ήρθε μια ιδέα και αναφώνησε: Δεν παίρνω τρία τραγούδια από διαφορετικούς μουσικούς κόσμους, να τα πετάξω μέσα σε ένα μπλέντερ και να φτιάξω ένα mashup, να μου βρίσκεται στις δύσκολες ώρες; 

Ένωσε λοιπόν τρία κομμάτια που κανονικά δεν θα έπρεπε να συναντηθούν ποτέ. 

Το σκοτεινό "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" των Radiohead,

   

 το "Gained the World" των Morcheeba με τη φωνή της Amanda Zamolo

   

και το ηλεκτρονικό "Taken Away" των Digitalism.

   

Και έφτιαξε το "Spirit World".

   

Αυτό το mashup, ενάντια σε κάθε λογική, δουλεύει πάρα πολύ καλά, επειδή τα τραγούδια έχουν παρόμοιο tempo και μελαγχολικό mood. 

Δηλαδή ο παραγωγός Gavin Burrell πήρε τρία εντελώς άσχετα κομμάτια και τα έκανε να ακούγονται σαν να γράφτηκαν ως ένα αυτόνομο. 

Η υπνωτική μελαγχολία των Radiohead συναντά το trip-hop ύφος των Morcheeba και από κάτω γλιστρά ένα ηλεκτρονικό στρώμα που κάνει το κομμάτι να μοιάζει σχεδόν κινηματογραφικό. 

Οι στίχοι στο "Spirit World" προέρχονται από τα αρχικά τραγούδια, αλλά μέσα στο mashup αποκτούν άλλη ροή, σαν να γράφτηκαν εξαρχής γι αυτό. 

Δυστυχώς δεν μπόρεσα να βρω τους στίχους όσο κι αν έψαξα, γιατί κάποιες εταιρείες νομίζουν ότι οι στίχοι είναι πυρηνικός κώδικας και δεν τους δίνουν (βλέπε copyright και άλλες τέτοιες τρίχες), αλλά βρήκα στο SonicHits ένα video του mashup, που έχει επάνω του τα lyrics, οπότε όλα καλά.

Και όπως αντιλαμβάνεται κανείς, είναι ένα από τα κομμάτια που δεν βαριέμαι να τα ακούω, όσα χρόνια κι αν έχουν περάσει. 

Γι' αυτό και η ανάλυση… 

Όσο για την επικείμενη κατάλυση του όγκου, θα γράψω όταν έρθει η ώρα.
